What is Venous Insufficiency Mapping?
Venous insufficiency mapping is a detailed duplex ultrasound examination of the superficial and deep veins of the legs.
It records valve function, reflux, and relevant anatomy to support clinical assessment and treatment planning.
Common Reasons for Referral
- Visible varicose veins or symptomatic superficial veins
- Leg heaviness or aching, especially after standing
- Persistent ankle or lower-leg swelling
- Skin discoloration or other chronic venous changes
- Symptoms returning after previous vein treatment
- A clinician request for venous mapping before treatment planning
What Happens During the Examination
